The Official Post-Bitch 2025-26 Regular Season Thread

Sure, but is on pace for just under 20G/82 in 12 minutes a game while having the best xG among all Boston forwards. The exact type of forward you want your system churning out for cheap so that you never, ever feel the need to add a Jarnkrok, Joshua, Domi, etc. Spending league min on him to give the same (or better) performance than a 2-3 million dollar bottom 6'er is how you afford to add real talent to your core group when it comes available in free agency or at the deadline.

We had guys like Steeves, McMann, and Holmberg in the AHL while guys like Simmonds, ZAR, Ritchie, Blackwell, Clifford, etc were getting reps. It's not even specifically about the the young guys we didn't give opportunity to (or waited way too long to finally give opportunity to), it's about the ongoing thought in the organization that waiver wire scrubs and cast offs from other organizations were a better option than giving our kids opportunity. We had 30-40 games to give to any piece of shit 13th forward from any non playoff team in the fucking league, but a 22-24 yr old in our own organization scoring at a 60-80pt pace in the AHL? Nah.
I agree completely it’s just that it’s Steeves who has become the story all because of a heater when he was first called up.

Teams with this much skill suck serious cock at tanking. They should be way better. The should be and they are.

Sure, but he's just the most recent example. I don't have any qualms with him being the one spoken about right now. Every time someone mentions him, just replace it in your head with Mason Marchment or Justin Brazeau.

Mason marchment apparently had banging godtier nerdies on the marlies. A data driven organization would have given him a way better look.

Elliotte says he doesn't think Armstrong to Toronto will be a thing. And Mehta "will be a factor" whatever that means.

Which is exactly what I wanted to hear to help me cope over this failed tank game tonight.

How did we not hire this guy before Treliving?

In one corner we have multi talented fucking genius data scientist. In the other a nepo baby whose last organization was already a 3 alarm tire fire when we stole him.

Holy fuck, Brenden Shanahan shouldn't ever be in charge of hiring anything more than a fucking janitor for the rest of his life.

Ahhh, I get it now

In many ways Mehta is the most obvious hire out there. The AGM of the most successful team in the last 5 years. Not sure how that isn't the obvious move, and that's ignoring the credit he's been given for finding so many diamonds in the rough over the years. He may just know his shit.

Another thing not sitting right about Tre is his exit. The leafs took some shit but it was all orchestrated by Tre acting like a little baby when pelley told him the gig was up. No last word with the players. Just quits a few hours before a game and slinks away.

Pathetic.

But also what you’d expect from the guy who lit a tire fire in Calgary then skipped town.

I get the same tingles reading this guy's bio that I did when I read Tulsky's. Hire exceptional people whenever they're available. If anyone had any concerns about the horse trading side of the business with a data nerd, fine, go get a data nerd who was a poker professional and derivatives trader.

Hire him. He's also young for that type of position, but not "aw shucks my gram gram from Sault St Marie is yelling at people mean to me on Twitter" young. Would be nice to maybe luck into a generational front office talent that can be here for 20 years.
