The Official 2026 Off-Season Thread: Revenge of the Nerds

During the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, the Washington Capitals traded their 26th overall pick to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for forward Troy Brouwer.

#teamlof #outlier

Cuz brouwer is a gudpro.

Ironically the only leafs that still have likely kept their trade value are the gudpros Carlo and Joshua.

But good luck getting real value for maccelli or robertson, those pussies.

Anyways you keep Maccelli because he's actual a solid average nhler, and try and ditch the actual severe negative players like Carlo. Good news is that gms will pay more for carlo.

Perfectly willing to throw the players under the bus for not bigging or duying in, but sure was pals with the coach

What Canada team is he putting his fingerprints on exactly?

Brouwer also had cup stink on him.

Dont discount that.

Not buying/digging in is all these clowns have

Did anyone bother to ask him about how bad his teams were at moving the puck from the back end?

No, because none of them think it's important. They think that you can out grit these fairy ass puck moving fags.

Meanwhile in the conference finals

- Makar, Toews, Kulak, Malinski
- Theodore, Andersson, Hanifin, McNabb
- Hutson, Matheson, Carrier, Dobson
- Slavin, Miller, Chatfield, Walker

The only one of the 4 that even remotely leans away from puck moving is Carolina, but they run an uber puck moving 3rd pairing that they use more than a lot of teams use their 3rd pairing with Ghost and the russian kid.

That's a whole lot of puck moving there though. If this is a copycat league, let's copycat that pls.

You’re simply delusional.

You can’t throw out 20 terrible deals and assume by laws of averages or magic beans that one will just get accepted. Most NHL front offices at somewhat competent
It's not throwing out deals and hoping someone just bites. It's a campaign of ongoing persuasion and manipulation, until you get one of those scenarios to land.

Literally the dumbest fucking shit.
Calm down, with your cholesterol level you can't risk this kind of excitement.

You yourself just said "most" NHL front offices are competent. The idea is to focus on the ones that aren't when it comes to the more ambitious proposals. We just saw Tre trade two first round picks, one that almost landed at 6th overall, for Brandon Carlo. That deal makes Maccelli/2nd for pick #25 look like the fairest deal anyone has ever proposed. And it's not outlandish anyway if a team has plenty of picks/prospects and is in the market for a scoring winger with upside.

That's probably my last attempt to waste time explaining this to someone who doesn't even realize his own words potentially allow for any kind of deal under the sun.

- Funny how the broad opinions of Berube ending up tracking with what we were obviously seeing from the players all season and not with our media takes at all with almost all of them "expecting him to return" or some such bullshit. They know nothing

- The "Chayka is just a Pelley/Rogers puppet" and "Rogers is tightening the belt" narratives can officially be taken off of life support

- How much ya wanna bet Pridham is going to Pittsburgh?

- Jake Goldberg would be an awesome hire. I know nothing about him aside from his last name, but I can safely assume that he has a law degree and is good with money.
We go to schul together
