They really have no clue defensively how to withstand pressure, do they? I used to whine for years about going into a shell with a lead. Now this. Not that it matters now, but it will at some point.
Its goes to show that just because you unload good players for futures doesn't mean you will benefit from doing so. Unless your only goal to to get rid of salary. It is certainly not necessarily any sign that performance on the ice will get better in the future.
How did we get into a situation where we have enough defencemen here and on the farm to possibly fill two NHL teams going forward if they continue to progress, and hardly enough forwards or forward prospects to fill two legitimate NHL lines?
I guess this is what a cautious drafting approach...
We threw one of those big bar pickle bottles full of piss over a guy in college while he slept. Didn't affect our draft status in the least. :)
Everyone concerned, including the victim, turned out alright.
If Drouin was going to do anything anywhere, it's not surprising it would be with Mackinnon. In junior it was hard to tell that one (Mackinnon) would become the offensive driver, and the other (Drouin) would not. They were so good.
It only made sense Colorado would give a reunification a try.
Anderson would have been a good addition to a real contender at the deadline I think, had anyone wanted to pay the salary. He may be worn down mentally and would have found some jump. In a series, he could have been a difference maker.
When I saw Anderson live last year I was surprised how effective he looked. Difference between one year and the other perhaps. Or I caught a good night.
I liked the Expos but never really developed a passion for them. Dad was a Dodgers fan back to their Brooklyn days and continued to root for them in LA so I kinda liked them too. But it wasn't until my son became an avid Cardinals fan that I had a true favourite team. Like your family, we've...
Yes, I can relate. No choice on the hockey-luckily he was born just after the 92 Cup win so there was a VHS tape on the Cup run that he quickly grew to love. But he developed a pretty strong love for the St. Louis Cardinals in baseball on his own, and I found myself becoming a fan. Today they...
In 1988-89, we used to line up to get Habs tickets at the old Forum for about $12 I think it was when they went on sale at the beginning of the month for that month's games. My buddy, who used to go with me, says he tells people this now but isn't sure they believe him.
They used to limit...
Simon was fierce, truly fierce. He could play hockey as well. Both him and Probert had that combination of qualities and were big contributors to their teams especially early in their careers, when in their prime. Both gone very young.
Well, if nothing else the non-stop drama might have been entertaining. That was a pretty boring era. But I'm not sure it would have turned out that way. The guy is a proven winner. His players also seem to like him.
