What in the fuck are they doing?

To be fair to the Dippers, the only thing that years of being a junior partner in an informal governing coalition with the Liberals bought them was annihilation at the ballot box.

So I wouldn’t be surprised if, whenever they think they can afford to do so, they vote against the Liberals for the foreseeable future.

And what this tells me is that they must be fairly confident that the Bloc will vote with the government on this. Also worth remembering that Blanchet did previously commit after the election to not bringing down the government “for at least a year”.

I mean, what is there even to say at this point that hasn't been said.
Also, dont take anything posted by Lorrie Goldstein as truthful. He, like Ezra Levant, is just another self loathing Jewish fascist who would happily help load other Jews into boxcars to appease his masters.

Steve seems.to think that anyone who claims refugee status should be believed. Sorry, but that's not how any of this works. You need to prove that harm will come to you if you're sent back. A Ukrainian refugee? Sure, no problem. But someone from a random 3rd world country who's just chasing a buck? Sorry, you're not a refugee. If you want to come and live in Canada, apply for citizenship like anyone else. Economic opportunities do not constitute the basis for a refugee claim.

And if, after being here for a year, you STILL haven't filed a refugee claim? GTFO. Your application is turned down? Tough shit. Pack your bags because you're being deported. Why should anyone bother pursuing citizenship if we're just going to let everyone in and give them all the benefits if citizenship without asking for anything in return?

My brother's father in-law comes from Denmark. Been in Ontario since the early 70's. Built up a business. Raised 3 kids. And like a lot of old white guys, absolutely LOVES Doug Ford and Trump.

But he's never voted in any election since the day he arrived in Canada. Why? Because he never bothered (and was never obliged) to become a Canadian citizen. He's here legally, as a landed immigrant, but he never bothered to take out Canadian citizenship. But he's the first one to rail against "foreigners" (with his thick Danish accent)

He is a perfect example of why our immigration policies need to be revamped.

So in the end, the throne speech was adopted by Parliament without even bothering to have a vote on it.

Apparently the way this works is the Speaker asks the House if any MP’s request a standing vote on the legislation. If even one MP from any party does, the legislation has to pass by a majority vote (and in this case, it would’ve been a confidence vote). But if no one requests a vote, the legislation is simply deemed adopted.

So, bottom line—despite any grandstanding, none of the parties have any interest in going back to the polls right now. Not even the CPC. They could have easily brought this to vote and either potentially brought down the government, or forced either the Bloc or NDP into the uncomfortable position of having to vote with the Libs. But apparently they didn’t want to risk it.

And where the Bloc or NDP is concerned, this is a tricky way to not trigger an election while also not having to explicitly vote for the Liberals.

Yes it was negligent of the mother not to have been immunized (assuming there was no medical reason), but it seems the child had other medical conditions that may have played a part in the death.
