At this point sure why not. That's a shit option and likely a disaster contract but the alternatives are all worse.

Florida does not need Brad Marchand honestly, and signing him for any term will most certainly see players like Lundell, Luostarinen and Samoskevich start complaining about a lack of opportunity. That said, two cups, who cares.

Nahh. Clearly the smart approach is to hand out every single cent of available cap space on July 1st, the time of year most notorious for hilariously overpriced contracts getting handed out.

Then once the trade deadline rolls around, we trade away all of our picks and prospects at the time of year most notorious for hilariously overvalued trade prices. And as an added bonus, we can trade away even more picks for extra retention, to make up for blowing all our available cap space on July 1st.

The endless cycle of brilliant management.

"I have agreed to it and so have the Leafs, but he (Marchand) just hasn't seen it yet, he's just blocked the emails coming in from Toronto."
