I've always hated their propensity to fling the puck high and out of the zone because exactly what you said - they end up losing control much of the time. Reserve it for times that are desperately needed, not as a routine play. The Canes have made a noticeable change and that's a good thing.

I temporarily left the game right before the barrage of goals by the Avs, but from what I saw, it wasn't a terrible effort from the Canes. All streaks must come to an end, so just forget it and move on to start a new one.

My favorite part of the last two games has been to watch Necas channel his inner Joni Pitkanen late in the game. Last night, his spin-or-ramas and ability to open the ice (WITHOUT TURNING IT OVER) was just amazing.

With Kooch, what you see is what you get. He's had plenty of time to show progress but remains as much of an enigma as he has been since he joined the big league. We've got one consistently reliable goalie who is consistently injury-prone, and one who is consistently inconsistent.
