100% he is, but that comes with over-thinking things. Its fine to pull that off in the regular season, he doesn't have that luxury in the post season when space is extra tight. I am impressed with his defensive prowness, and his physicality so far this post season, he's engaged for sure.
Marners problem is that he tends to over-think in the playoffs, and you can't be pulling that shit when you have guys such as Weber coming at you. If Mitch can learn to play based on instinct, he'll be much better in the playoffs, its not for a lack of effort however.
Dubas confirmed it when he did his short interview just prior to Game 2. He explicitiy said Tavares had a concussion, and that they were taking a "conservative approach" with him, the leafs top doctor was heavily supervising JT as he recovered at home.
Its up there for me, the worst was when I was at a game where Alyn Mccauley got drilled into the boards. The dude was down on the ice for 30 mins, and EMS had to give him CPR for a few minutes before taking him off, if you thought JT's was awful, that one was a million times worse.
He's a hockey player, I don't want this to come off poorly, but they have egos and they want to win at all costs. I think JT would push it as far as he can, just take a look at last night, even though he got rocked/blacked out, he still ignored medical advice and tried to get back up and...
Agreed. I think Kadri goes "all out", almost like an obsession to win, its not motivated by intent to injure though. You could see how shook he was after, the problem is, Kadri has about as much impulse control as my 4 year old niece does. The NHL needs to step in here, and give him a lengthy...
No doubt in my mind about it- 1) POC was the head 2) Possible serious head injury to Faulk 3) Kadris prior history. I'd be shocked if he's allowed to play again in Round 1.
To send a message that we won't be pushed around physically. Take a look at Washington in Game 1, first thing they did was Ovie ran over Krejci, to set the tone for the series. Of course the Leafs need to use their skill to win the series, but of course physicallity is a factor for both teams as...
I'm fucking pumped for tommorow's game! Leafs need to come out smashing every Habs player in sight for the first 5 mins, set the tone early and often. Montreal's going to be ready, we have to out-intensify them, do that, and I like our odds of winning Game 1.
I'm impressed by him! Fast, has a bit of skill, and he takes runs at anyone. Yep, if you ask me, I'd say he's solidified his spot on the 4th line going forward.
They weren't very good tonight? I'd say they were the better team for the first 2 periods, the 3rd was atrocious however. I'm not too pissed, this was their 3rd in 4th nights, with a meh backup in net, taking 5/6 points in week #1 is damn near perfect, I'll take it.
Put yourself in her shoes- Imagine being a woman and a bunch of men (one of which was half naked) trying to get in your car, how would you feel? Bottom line is she didn't know these guys from adam and she had every reason to fear for her safety. I'm not saying Matthews was intending to rape her...
What's so hilarious about a guy pulling his pants off and trying to get into a car of an unknown woman? Sorry, but there's nothing humorous about it. We all make foolish/moronic choices (myself included), he needs to take his lumps, grow up and move on.
Sandin I can see getting a 9ish game tryout in the regular season until Dermott is back. I doubt Marcinin is anywhere but the AHL come opening night, he may see 5-10 games of spotting duty if there's injuries on the back end. Gravel hasn't shown anything, other than that he's an OK fighter...
I think Harpur makes the team, Babcock has always stressed he wants a "heavy team" and he wants ruggedness on the blueline and who can kill penalites. I'm not overly impressed with Harpur either, but he fits Babcock's mold to a "t", and I can see him up with the big club at least until Dermott...
I think once Dermott is back from injury the blueline will look something like this
Rielly-Ceci
Barrie-Muzzin
Dermott-Sandin/Harpur
Decent looking blueline IMO.
3 takes from the Leafs lineup I have
1) It'll be interesting to see if Matthews can actually learn how to drive a line
2) Good first test for the leafs most likely top pairing unit
3) This is a golden chance for Hutchinson to steal the #2 spot.
