Yes but Vanek moved to Minnesota when he was 14. It's home to him.

Also, if Minny really wanted Vanek, why didn't they acquire him cheaply like the Habs did? They chose Moulson instead. If Minny resigns Moulson (like they did Pominville), will they want to spend to the cap to get Vanek too? Heatley is coming off the books sure but Moulson is going to run at least $5M per. Vanek will want $7M at least.

While Vanek may want to sign in Minny, it may not work out for him if they resign Moulson.

Well Callahan is actually a solid player. Not a $6 million player. But he's a lot better than Clarkson.

For sure. Callahan's a glorified 40-50 point forward, but that does at least beat the hell out of a glorified 20-30 point forward.

Honestly if i could get him for 3/18 i wouldnt be too upset, not thrilled, but not upset....it's the extra 3/18 on top that is outlandish.

Oh yes. Apparently playing good defense is so much more important than scoring even though there's never been a more difficult time to score a 5 on 5 goal in the NHL.

Depends who you ask- Personally I think hes a great player who can do it all out there, however IMO he is not worth anywhere near $6M-7.5M a season though, more like 4.5-5M range.
