That EBUG story this season is still hard to believe...I kept watching that game unfold expecting the Leafs to light up Ayres like a Christmas tree and the Canes players kept digging in deeper and deeper and wanting to win it for the guy! It was just one of those moments that is still hard to fathom.I'll volunteer to be the EBUG! Those guys get all the chicks!

It wasn't until the game was inside about three minutes to go before I thought "you know, we could actually win this".

Pretty sure the end result ended up being half on the Leafs for visibly letting off the gas once those easy ones went in and the Canes for deciding enough was enough and getting super defensive. Either way, it's probably the weirdest NHL game I've ever watched. After those two goals went in right close together, I remember thinking "There goes the game...The Leafs know exactly where his weakness is.". Then you could see the D tighten up, the passing improve, and a force field go up in front of Ayres. It was definitely a great moment for David Ayres, the NHL, and the Hurricanes.
