2019-Whenever Misc. Grab Bag Thread

At least one player from each of rounds 1-10 played in at least 900 games. And the last player taken played in 242.

Dig deep through it and find a bunch of future 2002 Hurricanes in there, plus one surprise draftee that has hung around the franchise the longest of all of them. It’s not a great draft in terms of how many players played at least 1 NHL game, it’s only 131. But of those 131 players, 15 played at least 1,000 games and another handful played at least 900.
 
Rolling Stones have had at least 1 song on the Billboard chart in 7 decades. From the 60s to now. I remember reading they played Reynolds in the 60s and tickets were around $5 for best seats.
 
How desperate are we for real sports? ESPN has 3 hours tonight starting at 8 to reveal, discuss and dissect the NFL schedule.
 
Panthers have 4 winnable games, Detroit, @San Diego, Arizona , @Washington. The rest of the teams are either good like KC and NO or average teams.
 
75 years ago was V-E day. My father was in the Army in Germany and they were playing BB when their commander told them the war in Europe was over. He said they went back to the game. He was even happier when he found out 3 months later he would not need to invade Japan. That was planned for Nov. and would probably require 1 million US and allied troops.
 
Jets and Dolphins play in Miami in week 10 both have byes in week 11 and they play in NJ week 12. First time since 91 teams are playing back to back games.

Jeez ... I remember freezing my butt off on survey crews in the RTP in May and June back in the mid-80s and then absolutely roasting through the rest of those summers. People just like to whine about the whether, regardless of what it is at the moment.
 
I was in Alaska in late May and they said it could snow but it stayed warm. Around 50 at night 70 in the day. They rarely get thunderstorms because it never gets hot enough.
 
I'm sure rock and roll would still have existed without Little Richard, but it would have been boring.
