2019-Whenever Misc. Grab Bag Thread

Well As the day wore on the shot made my arm very sensitive and it was hard to sleep on I changed) still didn't sleep well cause I didn't want to turn on the AC.. and it was very warm in here.. Arms now very touchous similar to how the Flu shot is

Just back from driving my daughter down to Dunn for Pfizer No. 1 ... slick, efficient operation by Harnett Health Services at the Dunn Community Center with traffic support from the Sheriff's Dept. Got there at 9:30, back in the car and heading north on I95 by 10:15. Seriously, if you haven't started the process yet, Harnett Health is open to all comers and they're running these walk-up clinics on Wednesdays and Fridays. It's an easy drive down and a smooth process run by super nice people. For those looking for Pfizer No. 2 who might not love their current appointment for whatever reason, this is a great option.

JB, are the two day a week walk up clinics all no appointments necessary?

Lee county now giving shot to anyone
Yes ... by appointment only. Drive up clinics with both Moderna and Pfizer for now.

That brings the list of counties open to all comers to Lee, Moore, Craven Greene, Cumberland and Rockingham counties. All of which are fairly easily drive-able from Raleighwood. Go get those jabs, folks.

I wonder how many people are getting more than 1 type of vaccine? Hopefully not many. It should not cause any problems to get 2 of the 3 approved. I could see a person who is really nervous going back to get a 2nd round different than the first version.

looking for good eatery on OBX I know about Black Pelican

I would think VERY few. They give you that sticker on your card, and it's very specific as to what you got for the first injection and they're gonna want to see that before round two. But, people being people I'm sure there's a few that will find a way to be "special"

Never underestimate the ability of people to be special.

I can name all except one but how do we want them id'ed? I'll just give a first name or something similar <L - R>

Grant (RIP - DAMN!*), Doug, Bill, me/AH (I've lost 40 lbs. since), Raymond (da Judge), Jim, Andy, ???, Brian L., Kurtz.

*Why don't the assholes die off, not the good guys!

Yep and the Caesars corporation casino (I assume it will be a Harrahs) opening in Danville VA in 2023 is going to rake in tax dollars for the state of Virginia as all of us degenerate gambling Yankees take the less than 2 hour drive from Wake county to try our luck there. That place is going to make a killing too.

I haven’t been to a casino in years, even in the days of living about an hour from Atlantic City (Exit 91, thank you very much). I think the last time I was in a casino was in Hamburg, Germany in 1984. But if we ever take a Canes roadie to Vegas, I’m sure that will change.

also Richmond, Bristol , Norfolk and Portsmouth are getting casinos too .

In St. Louis they have a river boat casino that's not on the river and it's not a boat. :) it's OK as long as it's near a river.

I lived 40 minutes from AC for 9 years (Parkway Exit 13). Borgata was (and still is once we get out of this Covid mess) our happy place. We would go maybe 4-6 times a years though even living that close so it was more a small getaway to look forward to multiple time a year than a regular thing. I expect we will be hitting up Danville 2-3 times a year once its open. Harrah's Cherokee is so darn far to drive to and that new Catawba casino, while closer, is still quite a drive from here.

Lots of family in South Jersey though so once its safer to travel and stay places again we will still be visiting Borgata for sure.

We will see if NC is going to let all that gambling cash go to VA and to the Catawba casino. People in charge now claim to be big on free enterprise. Of course that does not seem to apply when it comes to booze. I can't buy a bottle of booze on Sunday but I can drink booze at restaurants . Makes no sense.

MLB starts today , minors start next month including Bulls and Mudcats. Holly Springs Salamanders start in June. (college summer league) Burlington is now college summer league too. Another college team close by is Danville Otterbots
