Celtic took the last Old Firm derby today and all but wrapped up another SPL title. That was absolutely unlikely at the midway point as Brendan Rodgers took forever to find any traction with a system.

Multiple sources tell TSN that Jesse Marsch will be named the next coach of the Canadian Men’s National Team. Mauro Biello has had the position on an interim basis since John Herdman left last August to take over MLS Toronto FC.

Sure. He's clearly interested in coaching international football and the US wouldn't give him the time of day in the last search. That might bite them in the butt, honestly. Because Herdman is kind of a fraud and that roster is VERY good.

Juventus won the Coppa Italia on Wednesday but saw coach Massimo Allegri sent off in stoppage time. He was suspended for the last 2 matches of the season yesterday but he was sacked by Juve today.

Emma Hayes leaves Chelsea with a bang after all. The Chelsea women were left for dead after losing to Liverpool in early May, but chased down Man City to win the WSL title on goal diff. They out-scored opponents by a ridiculous aggregate of 15-0 over the last three matches ... without injured striker Sam Kerr.

On the other end, Bristol City locked up relegation some time ago. Crystal Palace will be promoted to replace them.

Brest from Ligue 1 qualified for the Champions League for the first time in club history. Where they’ll play is an open question, their stadium doesn’t meet UEFA requirements. Brest is on a peninsula in Brittany, about as far west as one can get in France without falling into the ocean. They don’t have many nearby neighbors. Lorient and Guingamp are more than an hour away, Rennes and Nantes are even farther away. Guingamp’s stadium meets UEFA requirements, it was upgraded when they played in the Europa League in 2014-15.

Celtic Women won the SWPL to complete the regular season sweep. I'm pretty sure it's the first time we've had the same club win both the men's and women's championship in Scotland, as Glasgow City have dominated the league and are not affiliated with a men's side.

Bologna manager Thiago Motta will leave the club at the end of his contract and take over at Juventus. He led Bologna to their first Champions League appearance in 60 years. As a player, he won the Champions League twice, with Inter and Barcelona.

Wayne Rooney gets another chance to fail, he was appointed manager at Plymouth Argyle. They survived relegation in the Championship by 1 point over…Birmingham City, the club that Rooney took from playoffs to drop zone in 15 matches in charge.

Sure, let the famously unprepared guy take charge of your pre season camp. What could go wrong?

Looks like Chelsea are close to robbing Leicester for manager Enzo Maresca. I'm sure he'll last a "long" time at Stamford Bridge

Boehly is different than Abramovich, just ask Poch.

Villa extended Emery’s contract to 2029. They were 3 points above relegation when he took over.

Chelsea and Bayern are quickly learning the lesson that managers pay attention to how you've treated past managers.

And on the opposite end of this, Emery and Villa have apparently agreed to a new five year contract!

How sad is it that Bayern are seriously considering Vincent Kompany? He did a fine job leading Burnley to a one and done season.

Kieran McKenna is staying at Ipswich per Savid Ornstein. So scratch him off the Man U list. He was also rumored to be a candidate for Chelsea.

Yeah, it would have sucked to see two of the three promoted managers leave for other jobs right way. Especially if they left for jobs at clubs that are so obviously run by insane people.

Something to keep an eye on. West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta has been charged with misconduct by the FA for allegedly getting booked deliberately “for the improper purpose of affecting the betting market”. He's accused of seeking to be booked on purpose on 4 different occasions. These are different charges than what Toney and Tonali were suspended for, this falls under match fixing. It could also lead to a criminal investigation. The article has a link to an analysis of the yellow cards in question. The card against Villa last March is most telling, he took 3 different bites at the apple before finally being booked.

Oh yeah, saw this news a few days ago. I have to assume this is based on irregular betting patterns and not the cards in question obviously. If he gets found guilty, I assume his career is basically over since this a much more serious charge than any of the other betting charges.

Chelsea women lost Emma Hayes to the USWNT. No big deal, they went out and poached Sonia Bompastor from Olympique Lyonnais. Chelsea is also restructuring the women’s team making it a standalone entity rather than beneath the men’s team.

That one's going to be interesting to watch. Hayes built a very specific team culture at Chelsea and it won't be easy to walk in there with new ideas and a new way of doing things.
