2021-22 Season Hurricanes Misc. Thread

At 1PM there was pretty much nothing left for lower level and club other than a couple annoying groups of 3 where seats are on bends that get 'tight' with legroom. Of course if I wanted to take out a 2nd mortgage I could have opted for a pair of Lenovo Club seats.

I ended up adding 2 more strips in Sec 304 instead. There isn't going to be anything left for the general public unless most remaining STMs just leave the remaining upper level seats alone. Resale market is going to be pretty pricey it appears.

I'm not particularly happy with this whole 'you won't be able to list your extra strips for resale'. I mean, I get it, sort of. You don't want STMs buying up extra strips at discounts just for the purpose of re-selling them for a mark-up. But there are legit reasons why someone might not be able to go to a game that currently we don't know the exact dates for (I'm potentially in that situation for Round 1 and the Finals). I can't list my additional strip seats for resale? That just makes my situation harder to deal with and forces me to use other secondary ticket resale venues instead of Ticketmaster to move my tickets. Its not like they are completely shutting down resale avenues, so why bother with that one block?
 
Maintenance day for Staal, Fast left practice early. RBA said he should be OK, but it’s something to keep an eye on for tomorrow. If he can’t go, they could plug Lorentz into that spot, he’s played with Staal before, or they could move KK up and use Lorentz or Stepan at 4C
 
Single game Round 1 tickets available now for STM Presale, day before they open to public tomorrow.... minimum prices look like $230 in lower bowl (with very limited availability), $200-$250 in 2nd bowl, $60 and up in 3rd, plus TM fees.

Edit- The above is for the first 2 games, was expecting an increase per round like our STM prices, but these go up even within the 1st round... Home Game 3 starts at $75 upper deck north end fan zone, $225 2nd deck, and $275 lower bowl, and Home Game 4 (Game 7) is $100 Fan Zone, $250 2nd bowl, and $300 minimum lower bowl.... First Round.

No complaints for my $118 seats in the 8th row in 102, lol.... that, friends, is an STM discount.

My tickets went up astronomically but that’s because I have Pure Hockey seats and that discount goes away for the playoffs. My tickets went from $50 to $96. But that’s a good problem to have, right?

Not if you were me but that's also why I don't have ST. I can't afford them in the Reg Season I sure as anything can't afford them come playoff time. (I so want to go to a game though!.)
 
They held back tickets for single game sales because sure enough, the 2 tickets right next to my Season tickets are now out there for single game playoff sales. I would have purchased those as my additional strips instead of 2 tickets up in Sec 304 if I was given the chance to.

They didn't actually hold those back, apparently for some reason they were released by the STM account holder for those seats next to mine and then were made available to the general public I was told. Bummer for me in only that my whole family could have potentially sat together, but I saved a lot of money having to get our extra strips up in Sec 304. Kids were really good about it, just excited to be in the building for the playoffs.

Also adding to the pricing drama of those single game tickets, the lower level North tickets for a potential Game 4 Round 1 are more expensive than the Lexus Club tickets for that same game.
 
The Carolinas Chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association has named Antti Raanta as the Canes nominee for the Bill Masterton
Trophy.

The Carolinas Chapter is chaired by Cory Lavallette from The North State Journal, with Luke DeCock, Chis Alexander and Justin Pelletier from the N&O and Sara Civian as the other members. Pelletier is new this year, he replaced a guy from Greensboro, IIRC.

Some other nominees are Andrew Ladd, Jack Johnson, Ryan Getzlaf, Marc Staal, Jack Eichel, Carey Price. The Pens chapter nominated Brian Boyle, who won in 2018 after recovering from cancer. I suspect that Price is the front runner but Eichel could be a finalist too.

Eichel came the furthest to play, probably. I agree that Price is probably a lock though. the NHLPWA values a sentimental journey more than a guy forcing a trade and coming back from back surgery.

I mean, good ... but I still wouldn't push it with him. If he's seriously 100% then fine, give him that Rangers game, wrap him in bubble wrap and then send him home until the playoff start.
