2021 Draft Thread

Yes he’s 100 percent at fault. But that doesn’t mean that her actions, judgment, whatever you want to call it, can’t also be discussed . . . independent of course of his fault here.
In context yes but when you start inserting caveats then you're shifting the salient issue.

Victim blaming ... Bravo!
When there's blame enough to go around, why not? She can be two things at once: a victim and an idiot who played a role in her own humiliation.

If you jaywalk and get hit by a car, the driver of the car is legally at fault because the pedestrian always has the right of way according to the law. But you're still an idiot for jaywalking and the fact that you got hit by that car is kinda your fault too. You may be a victim in the eyes of the law but you are hardly a blameless one.

There is definitely victim blaming going on here. We don’t deeply understand Swedish culture, so a bunch of Yank/Canadian men flippantly judging the girl is way offside.

The incident is on Mailloux, 100%.
So in Swedish culture it's customary for teenage girls to blow random foreigners they barely know? That's good information to have. I may have to book a flight now.

In all seriousness though, being a victim doesn't give you carte blanche. You can be victimized but still held to account for your own stupidity and poor decision making that put you in a position to be victimized. Generally speaking, teenage girls who don't blow guys they barely know never have to worry about photos of them blowing guys they barely know winding up on the internet. Actions lead to consequences. It doesn't excuse what Mailloux did but he was only able to do it because she made a bad choice and essentially put her trust in a complete stranger from a foreign country.

Everything is about context. Context is the one thing that is sorely lacking in most if not all of the articles I'm reading on this incident. To suggest that the girl's decision making could have in any way contributed to the end result is a hanging offense among the mob of internet wokesters.

Well only two people know what really happened and speculating is just that. I don't see the necessity of it, he messed up, he knows he messed up, admitted he messed up and paid the fine. I don't see the reasoning behind suggesting she even remotely caused him to share a very private moment.

Kids today treat blowjobs like our generation treated handshakes (never mind handjobs) It barely qualifies as actual sex to many of them and apparently she wasn't even fully undressed. Romantic it was not and in this day and age where kids live by the motto "Pics or it didn't happen" I'm not so sure that privacy could be assumed. Like everything else today, it would need to be negotiated ahead of time.

Apparently according to TSN690 the Habs just released a letter supposedly written by Geoff Molson (more likely by his media relations flaks) that addresses "L'Affaire Mailloux".

TSN690 will be reading it in about a minute or so after the commercial break.

very good letter by the consulting firm Geoff hired

and great move to ask "Logan not to participate in our rookie or main training camp this fall"

Twitter isn't buying, and the timing of the release in the midst of free agent frenzy is a calculated move. They're hoping to bury it.

What in the actual fuck?

Did Geoff also ask in the statement that TSN and RDS report and write articles on what Blackhawks did ?

Maybe Habs should refuse to play versus Blackhawks until the matter is settled by league ?
It's so laughable and why I'm a fan of alien invasion.

My god you're stupid and/or an asshole.

She's of age. If she chooses to have consensual sex, that is her right. It does not mean that someone has the right to share pictures of her. Full stop.

Seriously, I can't believe that even you would make this argument. It's literally the same as "if she wasn't wearing that short skirt she wouldn't have been raped."
