Any news on Turbo ? Is he coming back soon ? And what line will he be on ?
A. Nope
B. See A.
C. Aho's line barring Brind'Amour doing something completely off book

Seriously ... it's apparently a fairly serious concussion so we know next to nothing. They put him on IR so he didn't go to Detroit and they have a dark schedule today after returning to Raleigh late last night. Maybe we'll find something out on Thursday, but also maybe not.

Yeah....they really need Turbo back to stabilize Aho's line....and maybe add Necas to that line

Well subtracting Turbo, Trocheck and now Foegle from the forward group really makes them much less dangerous top to bottom. So even if you come up with liberates that make Ahos line formidable you only do so by defanging the other forward lines.

we need to get some guys back.

If all 3 of those guys are going to be out for several more weeks the Eric Staal drumbeat is going to get a bit louder. I'm not quite sure Max McCormick is really healthy enough to play?

They are going to need to call up another forward possibly.
Rempel, Gust or Shore?

Or do you plug Suzuki in there to try to keep some sort of skill balance?

I doubt they see Suzuki as an option for this season, but hey ... events may end up dictating otherwise. I just know from reading some prospect stuff that they sent him back for this season with a specific set of stuff to work on in the A and/or Junior and he's been making progress that has been categorized as "satisfactory." Honestly, I think Jarvis might be a step closer to being NHL-ready, but he's stuck playing that pointless short season in the WHL and I don't think his developmental plan involves burning an ELC year in 2021. Still ... needs dictate sometimes.

For the short term I'd think they'll try to wait it out with McCormack, Shore and Rempel caulking the gaps. But yeah, the Staal noise ain't going away anytime soon.

Do we want to burn a year of Suzuki’s contract? Or limit him to 7 games and send him back?

Bokk has warmed up nicely the last few games too. But most of the leading scorers in Chicago are Preds prospects. Jarvis and Cotton are the only Canes forwards in the top 10 in scoring.

Remember when we freaked out because Steve Smith left the Canes right after RBA was hired and went to Buffalo? He was fired by the Slugs today too. Apparantly Mike Bales, the goalie coach who left he Canes for Slug-land in 2019, survived.

You limit Suzuki to 7 games and send him back to the AHL for sure if you go that route.

I suspect the Canes will just call up Rempel, Shore or Gust. I know we survived the early season Covid infection with a pretty rag-tag crew, but I don't know how long I would want to go with:

Nino-Aho-Necas
McGinn-Staal-Svech
Martinook-Geekie-Fast
Paquette-Lorentz-Rempel

If they are going to do anything with someone like Suzuki, you would want it to be at home.

They could also suit up 7 Dmen instead if Gardiner is able to play.

A friend of mine in Buffalo who is close with the Pegulas told me that the Sabres already approached Claude Julien about the head coaching position and he turned it down.

The entire Rangers coaching staff is unavailable tonight. Hartford head coach Kris Knoblauch and associate head coach Gord Murphy and Rangers associate GM Chris Drury will be behind the bench.

Maybe they should make that a permanent thing? Did you see the score of that game? 😮😮😮😮

Just turned it on. 9-0 Rangers after 2. They scored 7 goalies in the 2nd period.
Zibanejad got a natural hat trick in a little more than 10 minutes in the 2nd period.

Flyers dmen Phillipe Myers and Travis Sanheim are both -6 through 2 periods. Zibanejad has 3 goals and 3 assists and +5.

Zibanejad tied Bryan Trottier’s NHL record with those 6 points in the 2nd period.

I would think that Zibanejad's feat last night is a record, but you know, Wayne Gretzky once played in this league and I'm sure he owns all of the scoring records that you can think of and they are so ridiculous that no one who comes after him will ever have a chance of breaking any of them.
