2023-24 Canes Misc Thread

There was a big group of Isles fans at the back of the East 2000 lot last year and they wandered around the grassy area and saw the Stanley Cup replica one of our group made from scrap metal. Word spread to the rest of the group and they came over in droves. John Tonelli from their 1980s Cup teams was there, Carson Daly (yes, that Carson Daly) wandered over and so did Jon Ledecky. Besides being swimmer Katie Ledecky’s uncle, he’s the co-owner of the Isles. Nice folks.

Here is Steampunk Stanley. He’s been retrofitted with a tap. He is the same size as the real Cup but, where the real one weighs about 36 pounds, this one comes in at over 160.

We wandered over last year to see it on your suggestion Andy and I got a pix of Steampunk Stanley with my son! Jackie Redmond from NHL Network was over there around the same time…

Hopefully the schedule this internet warrior cooked up is not correct…rain in the forecast Sunday and no one likes beer with their eggs at a tailgate at 8am!

Probably the correct days for the matchups. The start times? God only knows, but a 12:30 pm start would be quite unusual. Doesn't mean it won't happen, and I do fully expect the Rangers to be in whatever is the more prime spot.
 
Rangers and Bruins are locked in for those days with their NBA co-tenants playing on the weekend too. The only thing we can hope for is a flip of the early games to give us the 5:00 game on Saturday.

So they decided to split up the Bruins/Leafs and Panthers/Lightning series after all. Smart. For American TV, that gives them Boston on one night and New York on the other.
 
The Canes are back at practice today. Fast is not skating. Morrow is the only rookie on the ice. Andersen is in the starter’s crease, Kochetkov at the other end.
