Apparently Nashville Dman Spencer Stastney was the first player to get to arbitration this time around. Per Elliott Friedman, Nashville's request is 2 years/2 ways at $775k (NHL minimum) each season with minor league salaries of $125k and $175k. Stastney's ask is 1 year, 1 way, $950k
Stastney played 20 NHL games last season and had 2 Goals and 2 Assists and was +9. He went for 5 G 15 A +27 in 44 AHL games with Milwaukee.
We didn't really talk specifics of the options with Necas and the Canes via arbitration. I definitely don't think Necas would want anything more than a 1 year arbitration result so he could go out, put up a big season, and go back to the arbitration well with a better case. Not so sure how the Canes feel, I guess we will find out eventually (maybe).
