A place I actually wouldn't want Bedard to go and I don't have anything against the town & their fans? Washington. I would feel so gross that they'd get 18 years of the greatest goal scorer ever and then get Bedard. That would suck.

I get what you are saying.. however Little Beaver was never ignored.. he signed (at the time) one of the richest contract in NHL history.. he was never an ignored hockey player and Bedard will never be either no matter where he goes..

Marcel Dionne is 6th all-time in NHL goals and points. He probably had, all things considered, a better overall career than Guy Lafleur.

However, thanks to where Lafleur played, Lafleur became a literal national hero and is seen as an idol to a generation of hockey fans. If you were to look up the rankings for hockey players historically, Lafleur would be almost universally ranked higher than Dionne.

If Dionne had played his whole career in Detroit instead of being an anonymous player in LA, I think he'd be universally recognized as a top-10 to top-15 player. Hell, if he had been selected by Montreal instead of of Lafleur? Talk about one of the great what-ifs in hockey history.

I think it's important for the super high-end, generational players end up in real hockey markets. They don't need to be hockey hotbeds, but they need be in towns where hockey matters.

Is DLC down for everyone or just me. Just a few minutes ago i read an article saying the draft was this afternoon. The GMs all know the results and Montreal had a press conference right after the draft. Then the site went down right after i read it. I am not making this up lol
