2023 Habs Lineup

Yup a joke , no need for Dvorak on a team heading toward a rebuild

Take the draft capital and move on

they were gunning for another Cup Run!!!!!

<insert geeman comment about the first cup run being a covid fluke>

Fluke isnt the word, gave them all the credit for their guts .

Simply the notion that in a normal world Habs were never making the playoffs

The end result was a total gut job which was long long overdue

Awesome to see what Hugo is building and ongoing

A GM has to properly assess their roster regardless of recent results….Vikings went 13-4 last season but management realized that was a fluke so it didn’t stop them from purging a whole bunch of veterans and acquiring younger players instead of veteran stop gaps like Hoffman

Teams should retool every year based on current performance and short to medium term outlook

NFL is a great sport and easiest to reboot and pivot to new schemes

Cup run was great, most fun I had as a Habs fan since 1993. I’m talking about the off-season, which was one of the worst of all time.
I’d say 2017 off season was worse, acquiring Drouin to bolster offense as a W only to realize they need to convert him to C after losing Radulov & Markov followed by signing Hemsky as a Hail Mary

Even Reggie Houle was asking WTF? that summer.

You forgot signing Alzner as well.

Both summers were awful, not sure which one was worse. Losing Radulov, Markov, Sergachev and replacing them with Drouin and Alzner or losing Price, Weber, Danault, KK, Tatar and replacing them with Dvorak and Hoffman.

The 2021 summer was much, much worse because at least in 2017, you could tell there was a plan & goal. That's not to say the plan was a good one, but at least there was one.

In 2021, it was full-on panic mode. Shit, shit, fuck, what do we do?? We gotta keep this train on the rails!! The most obvious sign was when they got Mike Hoffman, who was the exact type of player The Charlatan hated.

Weber and Price couldnt stand up anymore ......Dano and Tatar were gonzo

The patch job was shit but Habs could never replace those losses

The train was was already over the track
