Hoffman and Edmundson are not as they are in their final year and will be gone by deadline.

Armia and Dvo though have two more years and that's too important for development rn

Nobody is a progress stopper if the young player wanting that roster spot does what it takes to earn it. No one deserves a spot by default. You want Armia's roster spot? Shouldn't be that hard to outwork him for it. So do it. And if you can't supplant a guy as bad as Armia, you're not good enough to be on any NHL roster. It's not like we're asking these kids to supplant future Hall of Famers and All Stars. We're talking about the mediocre-est of the mediocre here.
