Yeah, I don't think we would have gotten very good odds in Vegas on Dougie's contract being "worth it" after year 4. Honestly, I think Carolina would have happily extended him if they could have gotten him on a 4 or 5 year deal. If nothing else it would have saved them a couple of trips on the Tony DeAngelo train and Burns' slow decay over the last two seasons.
Literally. I honestly can't remember a forward with less speed who wasn't a goon. Hands for days though.
Legally and morally are two standards for me, but I’ll always hold someone to the ethics of a situation. A group of guys and one drunk gal, lots of text messages going back and forth— yep, morally heinous. The role of the governing organization in the cover up, another example of bad leadership and poor ethical standards. I think the NHL letting Joel Q. back behind the bench is heinous— that guy should have been buried.
Maybe Chris Terry could rival him in the speed and hands department.
Two peas in a pod, for sure. Terry was a bit more mobile, for my money. He was just a hair off of being able to play NHL hockey while Potsy wasn't particularly close.

Running amateur hockey like a business, basically. There was a fair amount of local angst when the Canes moved to town and started to get involved in youth hockey but that has settled down over time. The Stars though, have been much more aggressive in growing their youth programming and less responsive to the community.Ummm...Dallas Stars, what in the hell are you doing?
