2024 Draft

Anderson had many opportunities to win that game last night.

There's cranky then there's fed up.

Ottawa is now tanking. I'll wager they are sellers at deadline.

Buffalo? I have no idea WTF they're doing.

With the young talent I have no idea how Ottawa is so far behind, but it would be a good idea for them to tank and hoard some more talent.
Same thing for Buffalo, but at this point they're some sort of weird outlier where they stink regardless of who is actually on the team.

Oh and if I have to watch Anderson take another stupid ill-advised shot or miss on yet another breakaway I think I'll smash the TV. Fucking useless.

Truly a dumb man.

Imagine how MSL feels? Dumb Josh was one of his top student projects

I know you analyze stuff for a living but you seem to have a few blind spots where the Habs are concerned.

This wasn't a very good team when Dach and Newhook were healthy. Now? Even worse.

3 goalies? Stupid. Waive Allen and let him get claimed.

7 D even after we've solidified the pairings? After Struble established himself ahead of Kovacevic? Dumb.

Contracts to players that require waivers that are borderline NHLers? Dumb. Holding onto them because you believe they're worth more than they are? Even dumber.

To me the reason this team is schizoid is that HuGo are still subtlety tanking with this lineup while Marty is actually trying to win. They aren't giving him the horses needed.

I don't think management is trying to tank as much as they don't care about winning. Marty as coach cares about progressively making his team and players better and get them to compete.

It tough to call where we finish. My heart tells me we stay where we are in standings. My head thinks if Caufield gets hot we could move up slightly. I am hoping deadline trades move us lower.

Insane for his talent to produce so little

He has played well and competes but no finish
He's truly dumb. Holds the puck when he should shoot. Shoots the puck when there's no shot available.

Holds onto the puck way too long. He fancies himself a line driver, truly does, he's nowhere close. His issue is the same as Drouin's, between the ears.

I'll keep my opinions on Anderson to myself, not to rehash the same old stuff. But we see things about the same way.

We’re #8 at present. My sense is that we stay in the 6-9 range, but we’re likelier to be at 4/5 than 12ish.

The last four games have been awful. The goalies are the only reason we got three points.

Dvorak’s injury seems to have tipped them over a cliff. Not because he’s a great player, but rather because his absence really puts people in really bad spots (e.g. Evans.) And this will be for the whole season…

The thing with Dvorak is, he's not a bad player. He's really not. He's a useful, middle of the lineup player with a purpose. He's just extremely boring.

It also highlights what happens when you have players put in roles (and the responsibilities that come with them) when they're not good enough for it. Especially for centers & d-men.

Evans can replace Dvorak... For like a week. More than that and his limitations will start to show.

Another good example from a few years ago? When Jeff Petry had to replace Shea Weber. Petry was the prototypical #3 who would excel at 20ish minutes and without having to play against the other team's top lines. But once he got placed on the first pair, and then had to play 24ish minutes against the opposing team's best lines every time? He started multiplying the mistakes and he wasn't nearly as good.

More than half of the people who voted thought we'd finish in the 25th to 28th range prior to the season started. As it stands, we're 24th and I'm still expecting a regression.

We have a tough next 5 games.

Edm/Col/NJ/OTT/BOS. Hopefully we go 1-4 but I can see 2-3 which would also still be fine. At that point, we will be close to dumping Money and Savard.

Unfortunately most of this team is miscast in roles not suited for them

Habs have a top 3 trade asset in Mony , they cant fuck this up

Savard is your typical deadline d depth deal but may need to wait until next year unless the right deal is handed to us
