2024 Draft

So as the U18 tourney progresses, we're seeing the cream rising to the top.

I know stats aren't everything. But it has to be concerning for Iginla lovers that he's being thoroughly out-scored overall and also by D-1 and D-2 players. He's a very good player. However, personally, I don't see him worthy as a top, top tier pick. Complimentary guy with a great motor and good release. Reminds me of a less gritty Gallagher. Which isn't a bad thing. Greentree has shown flashes, but overall, I think he's been the biggest disappointment for me overall.

I know for sure based on what I've seen so far, is that both Catton and Lindstrom would be racking up points in this tourney and would be at or challenging for the top of the scoring stats.

I think Eiserman is putting a big exclamation point on his potential. As well as Connelly, he looked absolutely dominant today. Special talent that kid. Hutson looks decent. Not at his bro's level, though. But playing very well. Hemming has very good size and has been hard to stop. And Stiga seems to have awesome IQ, motor and work ethic.

Rising
Connelly
Eiserman
Hutson
Hemming
Stiga

Falling
Iginla
Greentree

Most likely wont happen but the Habs need Martone , a fucken beast to go with Slaf

I don't know where Porter Martone would go if he was eligible this year. Maybe a mid first? He missed out on this year's draft by a month.

Useful player, just not sure what the upside is though.

Speaking of players who were born a few weeks too late...

James Hagens would be the consensus #2 if he was eligible this year. Brilliant offensive mind.

He looks awesome. We have an outside chance with the CGY pick we got for Monahan. A lot of things would need to go our way, but hey, at least our odds are better having that pick.

So apparently Demidov blew out the same knee as before. If that indeed is confirmed, that totally sucks if it drops him out of top-5 as it obviously would bump some players likely on our list up above our pick.

I might(?) be a little immature, but every time I hear a Russian go oy yoy yoy, I giggle.

Still, unfortunate to see Demidov injured again.
