2025-2026 Off Season Thread - The Rehappening

Good on Tavares. There’s a guy that genuinely appreciates being a Maple Leaf and wants to be here and win here. There’s no taking that away from him now.

Also going to be nice to appreciate what he brings to the table divorced from the expectations that came along with being the captain and one of the league’s highest-paid players.
 
yeah, I expect that I will be much, much more fond of this Tavares contract than the og one. and he deserves kudos for taking a discount. I won't take back the things I said about him previously, but we are finally now getting to enjoy having a super value contract to a key contributor. a nice change.
 
Wow, could it actually be that the team doesn’t like him? Maybe whatever that obvious rift was with Matty was more of a thing that extended beyond the two of them. If that’s actually the case, then forget it, he’s done.
 
But we're going to really have to improve the roster here.

Get Knies signed and out of the way. Long term please - 7 or 8 years.

And then we really have to add to the forwards.

Horvat and Barzal were told they’re not going anywhere by Darche. Hughes inquired about Horvat as well.
