I would not be surprised if that 14.5/yr Columbus offer was made up by Marner’s camp to drive up the price for a place he wants to go. Much like the “Mitch is on a plane to go sign an offer sheet” rumours from 2019. Guess we’ll see if anyone gets played like Dubas did last time.

It also helps Marner look like less of a mercenary if he signs with a contender for around Rantanen money.

Columbus was actually the same team Mitch’s people and Dreger claimed he was boarding a plane to sign an offer sheet with last time around.

So yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they were using the BJ’s again to drive up Mitch’s price for a more desirable location. Still think he ends up either in Vegas or California.

exactly. wish we were the ones signing the OELs and Schmidts to cheap one-year deals to feast on our bottom pair.

Schmidt has always been a sneaky good player, but we should be focusing on forwards. Unless he signs cheap and we’re replacing an expensive D to have more to spend up front.

The nerves have started to creep in today for whatever is going to happen next week.
