2025-2026 Off Season Thread - The Rehappening

Byrum looked good for Colorado but they dumped him quick...he hasn't stood out in Buffalo but no one has.

I'm interested in how Colorado just dumped a bunch of salary....could they be a spot for Mitch?

Dallas I think wants to move on from Jrob to also potentially make a splash by signing Mitch to just over Rantanen at 12.5 or something. So I don't think they can take on salary so maybe this is a sign and trade scenario.

Tre has probably come to an agreement with Vegas and Dallas to take back karlson, Jrob, Pietro or something for an 8th year for a little less.

I also think the stories of zibanejad are something. He's played with Willy at four Nations.
I like him as a 2C
 
I also don't move Cowen...let the kid play his guts out to be a leaf. He has talent and he's a bit gritty too. Let him cook.

Knies...also untouchable. Keep the Two Arizona boys happy man.
That's why I have seen some say tre wants marchand on a line with Matthews and Knies.

Keep Carlo unless you can sign Ekblad for something not to outrageous. Then I could see Carlo gone...or better yet Reilly gone.

Calgary is pretty close to Vancouver? Andersson?

Would Reilly waive for LA? Anaheim?

I feel like this is my own satellite hot stove moment.
 
If I'm tre I am talking to Dallas to take on a Jrob salary off them as part of a sign and trade.

I think marner really wants to play for Vegas or Dallas. The dark horse team is Tampa to play with Cooper...although coops has been there a long time.

But Dallas is for sure tops on his list. So as I said earlier Mitch and Dallas will do 8x12 or at most 12.5 and therefore would have to dump salary.
I also think something must have soured in the relationship with the coach and they've targeted Jason....I don't know.
