When he signed he was supposed to be the last piece of the puzzle, the mythical "leader" who would take his boyhood team to the Promised Land. He and his boyhood team have achieved nothing. They've got older, but the results have not changed because he is a terrible leader.

You dont blame JT for anything for wanting to go home

Teams overpay in UFA but JT was productive his entire 7 year tenure unlike many others who become albatross deals

You blame the regime for thinking he was the missing to a cup

They needed more depth and defence not another top 4 forward

Honestly if I could have one of those 4 "core" players off the Leafs roster I'd take Nylander every day of the week and twice on Sundays. He is the only one of those clowns who elevates his compete level in the postseason, to the point where he's the one calling out the other core guys during a playoff game while the cameras are on him. Nylander, I'd pay. The other three are a waste of money because they don't bring it in games that matter.
