I don’t think it will happen, but Marner would fit well in the Habs top-6

Marner + Bennett would be an incredible summer if even achievable capwise

Marner -Bennett -Demidov would slay the opponents

I agree. There is no more a toxic fanbase than Edmonton in Canada. They have been a game away from winning it.

McDrai is basically the opposite of 34 and 16 for the same money.

Also, Edmonton is a city about 1/4 the size of Toronto and despite the fact that all the Oilers players live in the city, McJebus included, I have NEVER seen any of them just walking around. I don't know what they do in their spare time but in 6 years of living here I've only ever seen these guys if I buy a ticket.

Toronto, due to its size, is even easier to disappear into. So all this crap about the fishbowl is a crock. They make the kind of money that allows them to become invisible. It's not like the old days when Larry Robinson lived in a 3 bedroom split level identical to yours on the same street in Baie D'Urfe or something.
 
Is Marner a big game player? Plays big in the playoffs? Plays physical when needed? Scores big time goals when needed? If so, let's go after him because he's going to cost 9m+. Personally, I wouldn't want Marner to be the guy we blow our load on, but for some strange reason some guys here do.

It's not.....pressure comes from media, not fans...

Having 50 journalists at EVERY practice.....it's heavy.....when you know the players in San José and Florida have the complete opposite

It's the heaviness of the media....it weights on your shoulders after 82 games.....

Not to mention that numerous players in US, even in the so-called sports mecca of NYC, have said they can walk downtown Manhattan and nobody recognizes them. In MTL, you recognize everyone.....heck, we recognized John Sedgwick at the Toronto airport with Demidov....how may fanbases would have spotted that....NONE
