Cuylle would be a nice go get… I don’t think he’s even scratched his potential yet. I can see a 30G+ heavy power forward game potential playing w Demigod

Cuylle and a competent 2C would solidify the top 6 and, by extension, the bottom 6. We could push Newhook, Anderson, and maybe even Dach, if he sticks around, down the roster.

Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf
Cuylle - 2C - Demidov
Anderson - Newhook- Dach
Armia - Evans - Gallagher

This is why I cant understand how teams draft

They take chances on forward midgets with 90% bust potential like Mesar but bypass Knies and Cuylle until later in the second round

These players with size speed and skill are legit NHLers and are steals

Just a small observation… US born players, apart from meathead Tkatchuk, don’t figure prominently in the SCF. There’s that Sammie guy with FLA - but not much else…
And Ekblad..

I was thinking the same thing through these playoffs.. USA Hockey built their program based on Swedes & Finns focus on skills, but the CDN players grow up in a hockey culture and develop those intangibles. US also has been unable to develop the generational mega star till now (Crosby, McDavid)

Plenty of USA stars in this league if not the mega types

Program has caught up in the last 10 years
