If he’s acquitted, he’s acquitted. If it bothers you so much, boycott the Oilers. That’s the very obvious and easy solution.

An acquittal does not equal innocence and the league has a public image which these players have put into disrepute. They may or may not be found guilty but everyone knows they did it. You cant have people like that representing your brand. This isnt the NFL or the RepublicanParty.
 
Innocent or not, is Hart even that good at hockey?

Underwhelming stats despite the hype but I suppose he’d be an upgrade in Edmonton

That's the thing. His talent level isnt high enough that any team should be willing to overlook the PR nightmare of signing him.
 
Nobody cares until the team has a 3 game losing streak or they lose a trade and then all of a sudden everyone remembers about the abuse. There are still plenty of Oilers fans who are still not cool with the Bowman hire, and not because they're pining for Ken Holland.
