2026 Hurricanes Off Season Thread

Does Ghost become a nice trade piece when and if Carlson signs here...probably. A guy that can quarterback a power play and is a puck mover and great first pass guy out of your own zone is still a pretty wanted commodity around the league.

Maybe, but I doubt it. I just think Ghost plays out his deal and then moves on next year … regardless of what happens with Nikishin or Carlson or whomever else.

So you move both Ghost and Boom? Is CAL ready to step in full time?
I think Legault is pretty much ready to play the stay at home role at the NHL level next to the right kind of partner. 3rd pair, sheltered minutes. Should be OK, if needed. Same could be said of Nystrom although he offers more passing/offense than Lego.

All quiet on the Canes front. All the big "insiders" had us in on every big deal. If the biggest deal that happens is getting a 5th rounder for KK, I won't be upset.

I like our group.

Wait. There were big deals today? Who did they involve? Because all I saw was a bunch of very old guys and even more not very good guys sign inflated contracts today. This one set up to be a dud and delivered in spades. The trades were a bit more interesting, but even then we’re still waiting for the bigger name stuff.

The same friend that made the replica Stanley Cup made a Cardinal’s staff for me. So I am Andrew Cardinal T, Archbishop of Lenovo Center.
So, do you get a Hurricanes logo Pope's hat? *envy* I bet that's a bitch for whoever sits behind you.
If I knew how, I'd make you a virtual one.

Alas, I'm a trailing edge technology kinda guy.
proof: I 100% can make fire by rubbing sticks together.
