2026 NHL UFA/Trade Thread

We miss Armia and Dvo.

And that’s the part that has to be fixed short term. Texier and a guy like Haula in Nashville address that to some degree.

as of this morning, we are 31st out of 32 teams in terms of cumulative save percentage for our goalies. Only the Oilers are behind us.

As a result or goals against is bottom six in the league and our PK is around there as well.

Meanwhile, the rest looks fine. Is it all goaltending? I don’t think so. It’s the usual defensive zone coverage running around man-to-man bullshit that simply doesn’t work long term unless you are constantly attacking like Carolina and Colorado. Marty wants a hybrid system.

Weirdo.

Sort of, Texier is from southeast (Grenoble), whereas those who settled were from the North and West (Normandy, Brittany etc)
So that confirms it, people from his region didn't care to keep supporting Quebec and hence the lost to the British Empire.

We're the 11th best team in shots against. Even if we tighten up defensively, and there is improvements to be made there for sure, we're not going anywhere with 85% save

I love Guhle and I love Guhle's contract.

However, the most important skill any player can have is availability. It doesn't matter how good a player you are if you are forever missing minths at a time due to injury. For this reason and only this reason, I might be tempted to move him if the price (a bonafide 2C) were offered in return.

Even then...

Be forewarned, Chris Chelios was dealt because “his knees were finished” …. And went on to play 18 more complete seasons + parts of 2 other seasons

Just remember Chelios was dealt because “his knees were finished” …. And went on to play 18 more seasons
That is my fear.

But is it too much to hope that the Habs' medical staff is more competent today, and with 35 more years of medical technology advancements at their disposal, more able to accurately predict an outcome for Guhle?
