Yup & he’s no doubt sofff now…. But there’s hockey whisperer effect + he just turned 27 (22pts in 28GP on a terrible team) + AAV fits in seamlessly

There have been no assurances given to the Wild that Hughes will extend next summer, per league sources.

And while no assurances have been made by Hughes, a league source said it’s way easier to convince a player to sign once he’s in the place rather than not.

2 good players with high potential, and one meh player with some okay potential.
But for this season... This makes them worse.
Fair, as long as they lose the lottery anddon't get McKenna, all will be good. I get they are due for 1st overall though.
Maybe the Wild make a big push for Jack and Luke.

To me, that is the play here. It makes no sense to give up that much to get what amounts to a rental UNLESS you think you can pry the other 2 Hughes brothers out of Jersey.
Exactly how they will accomplish this is yet to be seen.

Yes, an understandable trade from both sides. Minnesota may have the most to gain or lose, but credit them for making it. I like Buium and Rossi,and Vancouver did well unless progress on these guys stall completely.
We'll be looking at this one for a few years down the road.

The NJD Hughes are signed for several more years, so it wouldn’t be free. They would have to give up mega assets.
Vancouver created the situation that led to them having to trade Hughes so I don't give them much credit for "doing well." This is a disaster for Canucks fans.
