and he plays a speed game so age 30 matters, especially if we have to give up the farm

I personally think Scheiffle is the guy. Not sure about the personality for with this group. He is supposedly intense and in your face type.

Why though ? Team has great leadership. Made the ECF and have made strides in their game so far this year.

Because you need at least one of those kind of guys to get over the hump in the playoffs, like Florida did when they got Matthew.

Hugo could have gotten McTavish for the modest price of two first rounders

Yup was the best option by far ...no trade protection and a manageable contract

Our pick plus a good prospect is all we needed to get it done

Ducks got a the 15th pick but our prospects are closer to the NHL or give them Kap

Both had the same pedigree , sound 2 way centers but not point producers and rated around the same draft range

I saw Beck player 20+ times outstanding junior career and great on face offs

Bruins do an excellent job developing forwards and put them in roles to succeed

Beck plays 8 minutes a night with trash , not much you could do with that

That's why I compared those two specifically. Not interested in other players drafted after Beck except for Minten because I figure they were clustered together on the Habs draft board.

Beck hasn’t been given the best opportunities, but his game seems lack a little something.

I thought he would push Evans, but we’re not seeing it. Getting passed by Xhekaj the Younger is not great.

Matthew does not have the bad personality traits (as documented in media). Brady though is a different story

he's not exactly crushing it in Laval. His point totals there actually dropped after his AHL rookie year.
