He might be their best d at this. Looks like Victor Hedman skating the pick out once or twice a game and it has made me fantasize about having an actual d like that do it consistently.

He led their d in icetime last night. Earning it too.

Benny's huge hit on mid-deke marchand was a thing of beauty. As was his smash on bennett in game 4.

He's not just hitting, not just hitting hard, he's hitting the right people.

Also they literally just rolled 6 d. Guess that’s what happens when you have an elite shutdown pair, a top 3 guy as your #5, a sometimes unplayable #1 and you #7 caliber #6 is playing at an elite level.

It’s take so much pressure off of him and he’s still score 90 pts.

None of it means anything if they lose game 7 but this game was just perfect on so many levels it really could be turning point type game for this series, this playoffs, and even their careers.

There was a moment in the game (leafs pp) where barkov was going in 1 on 1 vs Marner and trying to beat him, realizing it's Marner. Mitch played it perfectly, got the puck and immediately transitioned. He'd be an awesome d I think. Wish they tried it earlier in his career.

A guy like Willy would have gotten torched on that play.
