2nd Rnd '25 Playoffs: Leafs vs Panthers - Flo-Rida them onto the ECF - LFG!

on paper it looks like Panthers in 5, but maybe the Leafs got some confidence from bending but not breaking against the sens. Bob wasn't exactly invincible vs Tampa either.

I think we take this tbh.

My nerding out on this thread has convinced me that:

1. The Bolts were overrated heading into round 1
2. The Bolts were heavily injured in round 1
3. The Panthers didn't outplay the bolts as much as a 4-1 series would make you think.
4. The Sens were underrated heading into round 1.
5. The Leafs match up very well with the Panthers and much better than the Bolts did.

psychologically i also think the Leafs are the ones coming off a tenser more pressurized round 1 series that should have them a bit sharper than the panthers to start. And also that while the expectations of being a heavy favorite in round 1 may have unsettled them in the clinching games in round 1 (and the underdog nothing to lose Sens had a psychological edge there too), in this round it seems like everyone is writing the leafs off in a way i'm not sure we've seen before with this team (pretty funny given that strength of the roster and the 1st place finish tbh) and i think that'll only help the leafs mentally.

Sens finished the season on a 35-18-6 run. That’s a good run. They have two #1 d and some high end talent up front. Plus a good goalie n

I think maybe you mean it looks like that in our hearts.

Because "on paper" i definitely don't think it looks like that.

This was half the Bolts team in round 1:

Goncalves
Chaffee
Glendening
Girgensons
Geekie
Raddysh
Moser
Perbix
Lilleberg

The only names any of us even recognize there are old men glendening and girgensons who were ok 4th liners 10yrs ago.

That's cute rationalization. I don't see the Leafs winning this series without a lot of bounces going their way.

Fresh Net Ratings. Mostly the same except Tavares and Willy took a bit of a hit after round 1 for some strange reason. Stolarz also got knocked down a bit but that makes more sense.

Samoskevich playing in Tkachuk's spot in practice today. Tkachuk skating seperately. He didn't get much ice time in game 1.

Ekblad suspended for game 1. (Also looked very rusty when he came back last series).

How was Ekblad able to play against Tampa but suspended against us?
