Ha ha! I'm pretty easygoing with my popcorn, long's it's not that "smart" crap-in-a-bag stuff.

Try nutritional yeast. It's an umami bomb and does a bunch of the same things to flavours as a mild dose of msg would.

So yeah, kind of similar impact as MSG on flavours. On it's own, has notes similar to parm. Vegan weirdos use it as a parm substitute, and once you've tried it you'll see both why they do, and why being vegan is dumb.
