It's crazy that the opposing teams always feel so bad for us, and say this nonsense as if we didn't just watch them get slaughtered in every facet of the game with zero bad luck playing into it.

I don't think there's anyone this offseason. If you're letting Marner walk, then I think you sign Tavares for like $3M or something since he for sure wants to stay, and then just burn a year waiting for McDavid. There's nothing else to be done.

The problem now though, is that Marner was the piece to use to get one of them.

Also...we've traded most of our good stuff to add slow, untalented bullshit to this team.

The good news is we can get rid of the bullshit. They're all cheap and teams will take them without having to pay much or anything.

But the UFA market seems like shit this year. I don't blow any kind of load on Bennett, though I'd take him on a cheap deal, which isn't happening. McDavid just had to sign for 8 fucking years instead of 7. We'd flip Marner for him this offseason, get rid of all our trash and add a serviceable guy or two, and run it back with a vengeance. They blundered their way into a shitstorm now that can't get fixed for next season.
