Who said he's tough? He definitely plays with an edge though. Which is what makes him a dick.

well deserved. I don't mind players with an edge but in a meaningless game, against an Ahler, it was weak. His antic during the fight wasn't great either.
true fans never say their own player should be suspended, true fans blame the opponent for turning into him,,,,
As Wehave wrote, the league clearly doesn't care about those hits as shown by a 3 game preseason suspension, so why should I?

Sorry, I was referring to the posters that claim he scares opposition teams. I wasn't talking to you. And yes, I know he's a dick (as I meantioned). Not "tough" though.

Any player who appears to have a screw loose and who is unpredictable and prone to dishing out cheap shots will scare most opponents.
Andrew Shaw is not scaring opponents.

A butt end to Tyler Johnson's Adam's apple first meeting of the season against TBay, may just make him do a double take for the remainder of the head to head games - in a split second game like the NHL, that double take is more than enough to have an impact on performance output. It will also be more than worth the 5-7 game suspension that ensues.

He's not scary in the way that a heavyweight enforcer scares people. He's scary in a Bryan Marchment/Matt Cooke way: a guy who's reckless and isn't above trying to deliberately injure an opponent. Guys like that can threaten an opponent's career and their ability to earn a living. That is altogether scarier or at least as scary as dropping the gloves against an enforcer.
