Around The League - 2016 Playoffs

SJ was looking good. So was LA although they were quite sloppy in their zone at times. But SJ deserved that one.

Really hell of game LA and SJS, people in town say Sharks can probably finally surprise and go far this year, they are pretty complete team other than having elite caliber goalie but Jones was giving them some solid performance and Reimer is there in case..

This should give you some hope as a Habs fan. After last season, people were saying the Sharks were done, in need of a top to bottom rebuild, Wilson's era was over, yada, yada. One year later, it's like it never happened.

To be fair, they haven't yet built up a 3-0 series lead that they can blow. Give them time.

Actually, if anything, this should maybe show Habs management/fans that you don't need to rely on your goalie's supernatural performances to win in this league....none of the goalies who won the Cup in the last 10 years were even close to being ''Price'' good. Maybe Quick/Thomas...but even then....LA/Boston had star forwards/centers (Bergeron-Kopitar).

Time to stop building your team around Price's ''saving our ass'' style of hockey

I agree with that but it's too easy for a GM just to rely on Price . . . until Price gets injured and misses a whole season but that would never happen, as we know.

That reminds me of Lebron James' first venture with the Cavs.....management just relied on him being Lebron James, and never rely built anything around him. Lazy GM'ing....just say you have the best player in the world and hope the rest falls in place

Unlike Lebron, Price ain't coming back 5 years later if he leaves via UFA in 2 years.

The offside challenge is getting stupid, its becoming as bad as the crease rule. If its obvious fine, but if its half a milimetre what the **** are we reviewing.

Its not easy, but if you need a 5 minute frame-by-frame review at the blueline, maybe we just say thats inconclusive and the call on the ice stands.
For a league that has a goal scoring issues, they sure do spend a lot of effort into refusing goals.
