They really look like they’re suffering.

Hopefully Coleman gets them back on track.
 
If he can get out of from under that deal and recoup assets too without retaining anything, that'd be huge for the franchise. But terrible for Bergy's current aspirations. So I have a hard time believing it.
 
They believe they’re a WC team when healthy. They’re not going to do what needs to be done. Ownership needs changed out.

I mean, why else would a GM with veterans like Petry and Tatar potentially for sale be in Colorado if not to sell his 32 yr old, 10.5 million dollar, .911 sv% goalie to a team with not one, but two goalies that have been better this season. Both of whom are much cheaper, and one of whom they recently gave up stuff to get.

I can't imagine why any GM would take on that Price contract... it would be insane.

That said... for some reason it seems that there are still a lot of "hockey people" who think he's got value. Unfortunately, I think Bergevin is one of them.

Sakic seems to be pretty savvy as well...He went and did more or less the opposite to fix his goaltending issues. Leveraged empty cap space to take on the Orpik contract so he could get Grubauer for a 2nd, and then signed Francouz as a euro free agent. Also have a 24 yr old guy that looks ready to get a run as a backup if they don't want to pay Francouz this summer. He's getting good goaltending (team .918) for just over 4 million this season. Who fucks that up to hope that Carey Price isn't broken?

And if there was any year to go for it, this is the one. They have such an easy path to the WCF. After that, who knows. Couple nice matchups/luck and they're the champs. I'm jelly.

Yep. Soft ass division. Just the playoff revenue and impact on ticket sales for next season (Canucks fans are notoriously fairweather) would be worth it, even if Toffoli bounces in free agency and Madden turns into something (#2C).

Imagine having the legit possibility of winning your division with like 97-98 points, getting 92 point Nashville in the 1st round and then maybe getting 97 point Edmonton in the 2nd round. FML

Then getting 102 point Dallas in the WCF.

Eat 3.5 - 4 mil and put him on a better roster, there is a deal to be made

A motivated Price with talent is greater than a shit team expecting him to carry a team

If Lucic and other POS get moved this is not an impossible move , hype still has value.

My point was that I believe that as insane as it might be... I think there's possibly a GM out there that would bye Carey Price based on his name. Same reason that somehow the NHL player poll named Price the best goalie in the world last year.... even though he was nowhere near the best.

Problem is... I believe that Bervegin is one of those idiots that believes Price is still a great goalie and worth the money he makes.
 
If Toronto misses the playoffs will cheer on Tampa, they have Luke, Carter Verwhateverthespelling. and MCBACKUP playing. Easy to like, in absence of Leafs making
