Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Under the circumstances I think the Sabres did okay.

I'll be surprised is Eichel is ever the same... and he won't even play this year.

I think this is an all around disaster for the sabres. Krebs is pretty Underwhelming and tuch is out with a serious injury of his own (and even if he comes back healthy - he’s a 20 g 40-50 point winger). This year hasn’t gone well for vegas to start but at best you’re probably looking at a 12-15 ov pick (and in all likelihood, once maxpac and stone come back lehner and pietro will round back into form and they’ll make the playoffs).

so you’re looking at a decent prospect with high bust potential (how many top six forwards were sub 20 goal guys in junior?), a mid to late first and a middle six winger.

tough to do well here but that’s a tough pill to swallow if (big if) eichel comes back and is the same player.

In reality, the Sabres really blew the whole situation last year when they refused to let Eichel get the surgery he wants. They could have had a happy and possibly healthy Jack right now.

Poor Buffalo. Their rebuild went as bad as it could have possibly gone. Finish last, don't get McDavid, Eichel's spine blows out and trade him for 10 cents on the dollar.

Probably should have just let him have the surgery and see what happens.

Not a great trade for Buffalo, but Vegas' window is short here. Jack will be a part of a huge rebuild again before he knows it. And good thing players want to live in Vegas because damn, what a cuthroat organization. Players would never play there in most other markets. They sign guys long term and ditch them right after

Feel pretty bad for Sabres fans. After getting Dahlin and Eichel, despite missing out on McDavid, they had to think they were well on their way. Brutual.
