Kampf is still invisible to me. Bunting is my favorite add.
Bunting, Kampf, Kase, no bogo replacement, all look brilliant.
Mrazek will look good too soon enough.
Yeah I'm liking Kampf quite a bit. Foligno and Mims were clear mistakes tho, unless Kyle was looking to implement comedy in the lineup.
good: Bunting, Kase, KampfBunting looks a brilliant move. Kampf as 3C hardly looks brilliant, it's treading water. Kase was a nice low risk, high reward play and he's currently hurt and might have been conkied again, who knows. Counting your Mrazek's before they've hatched is the most Zeke shit ever, never change. Mimsy for 2 years is painful.
I dig Kampf as an addition, I dig him less as the #3C on a team that has struggled with offensive production from depth players in the past.
good: Bunting, Kase, Kampf
bad: Mimsy
tbd: Mrazek, Semyonov
So hard to please.I'd be incomplete/tbd on Kase (though most of us would have taken the under on 20 games before his first injury...so that's positive) and to a lesser degree Kampf. Kampf is fine as a signing. Still way up in the air if signing him as our 3C turns out to be the right move.
So hard to please.
I think Kase and Bunting have been wins, Kampf as good as you can ask for ( anyone expecting him to be a 3LC is batty) and Ritchie has been a bust.Sorta maybe.
We went into the off season basically needing a handful of top 9 wingers, as well as a 3C. We were never going to be anything but a good hockey team and probably a top 5 team in the league. But if I had said "by December our 3rd line is going to be Engvall-Kampf-Anderson/Simmonds and Spezza is going to be playing 4C, there would have been some legitimate concerns.
The thing with legitimate concerns is that it's easy for cheerleaders to shout them down when the team is streaking...and we're 100% good enough to streak, even with wonky contributions from our depth players esecially when Bunting & Kerfoot have done such solid work in the top 6. The core players + blueline + Jack are legitimate top of the league calibre.
But if that bottom 6 doesn't concern you, you're not paying attention imo.
No according to Gangly McGrouchKampf has been a good 3C though.
Kampf has been a good 3C though.
Being invisible is his job.Kampf is still invisible to me. Bunting is my favorite add.
I've said before, I don't really see what Danault does on the ice either. Apparently he's defensive dynamo guy, but I don't actually see him do anything. I don't know if Kampf is the same or what. I just can't evaluate a guy I can't see. These guys fall through the slim cracks of the eye test.Being invisible is his job.
Maybe you are just incapable of identifying good defensive playI've said before, I don't really see what Danault does on the ice either. I love that you have taken to Ritchie. Most of us including me wanted Bonino over Kampf. Based on how these fellas have played we were wrong. Of the options available at 3c Kampf probably tops my list.
Mimsy was the only dud this offseason for me and I said so at the time. And I fully recognizing that he has suffered from hilariously bad luck. But regardless he wasn't necessary.
