Ah I miscounted. I thought Vegas was in 8th and Canucks in 9th. Yeah, Vegas could do 7 points in 6 games, not impossible. But then Stars, Kings, and Preds have to keep winning too, and Oil go on a nasty losing streak for it to happen. Would be helpful if those lower teams are playing the Oilers head to head.

If Freddie was still a Leaf, there would already be several think pieces out in the press about how this injury was all the Leafs fault for giving Fred too many starts and for their horrific defense putting too much pressure on him.

Maybe the dude’s dedication to physical fitness just sucks and/or he has the durability of wet toilet paper?

Its telling that players don't even pretend to be subtle anymore. If you can under the radar fool a ref there is some gamesmanship there. But grabbing guys from benches, and skating full speed and stopping to get an interference call, grabbing sticks. Its all so blatant.

The reffing is as bad as its ever been.

The officiating is flat out corrosive to the game. It's rewarding the shittiest types of play and punishing the players who don't dive and try to play through it. Incentivize chintzy bullshit and diving, and that's what the game becomes.

Yup, Willy's reaction to the Stutzle grab perfectly summed up my feelings on this.

Wasn't Gallagher just railing on Stutzle the other day for the same thing?
 
I think you guys are overstating the reffing thing. Teams are scoring 300 goals again. Tons of 100 pt guys. Hockeys been fucking awesome the past two years.
