I'm convinced that the Habs are smart now. Uh oh.
I'd agree.

Nice call!Clearing room for Jeff Petry?
He's certainly better than he gets credit for. Not necessarily excited about the return for Petry. Would have rather got a 1st+... But MM is pretty okay.Apparently he was pretty good last year. Didn't watch the Pens a whole lot though.
I don't know about better... But definitely not much, if any worse.Matheson is prolly better than Petry at this point and younger. Nice trade for the habs I think
You want a 1st then you retain significantly on Petry. This way you get a warm body that you will probably be able to trade for a high pick down the road anyway if you really want. He's certainly better than he gets credit for. Nah, MM is a legit second pairing guy.Meh. Third pairing guy.
After MSL took over, Petry went back to being good again, he's really underrated right now. Matheson is no Petry.Matheson is prolly better than Petry at this point and younger. Nice trade for the habs I think
Imagine they miss the playoffs after doing this? It’ll make the Habs implosion last year look like a Cup win. That's some awful stuff by the Pens today. Their defense is worse today and they took on a terrible contract.
Way too deep still.Romanov gone. Petry gone..
Didn’t realize the Habs are that deep at D
Pffff. So basically Petry is Muzzin, but two years older and on a worse contract. Pens are banking on his late-season games holding up as he begins his 35 year old season. Leafs are hoping that Muzzin's playoffs hold up in his 33 year old season.
If the penguins are betting on the older, more expensive, longer term Petry, then I vote that the Leafs should bet on Muzzin.
Take that LOF.
So he’ll get a 1C opportunity now and put up 85 points next season?
So 80 point player minimum next year since no one will pay him want he wants and not play him that much. Let’s see.If Naz was given 19mpg and 1st unit PP minutes, he would be .9ppg or better, yeah.
It's like you learned nothing watching Matthews and Marner go from "80 point" players to 100+ point producers magically....exactly when Babcock got fired and they both started playing 21mpg with a significant increase in minutes. It's almost like it's hard to score from the bench, or with 3rd liner wingers or something.
