Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Hughes wants an overpayment

Thats the only thing holding up a trade
Obviously because he still needs to ice a team and the fact Anderson is healthy when everyone else is banged up is actually pretty ironic.

He can be moved. $5.5m isn’t prohibitive.

Strome: good 3c, can play 2c and not look out of place. With cap headed up, seems like a decent contract.

Anderson: honestly don't know a thing about him other than the Clarkson memes don't seem that far fetched.

Wasn't directly comparing the 2. Is Anderson a C? Or is he a more physical Kerfoot?
Really fast and physical, wears the D down, can fight, 20g guy but no, someone 6’3” that plays heavy and fast can’t possibly be inquired upon by Neanderthal GMs because you know… he’s a Hab.

5.5 and an expiring deal or with the cap inflating I would probably agree but if the cap is flat then IDK. The team who would want him are in win now mode and unlikely to have $5.5 to spend on a middle 6 guy.

Problem is he shows up 3/10 games

Teams rumored inquiring are up and coming teams. The one that isn’t was Edmonton and the Habs would have to take back a bad contract, I’d rather stick with Anderson as he’s not entirely useless. He has all the tools. No tool box.

Also, I look at these things in a real world perspective, not a fantasy hockey perspective.

You're discounting those teams with their own expiring contracts.

Maybe he just wants a payment. Don't think the over part is in the cards for him.
Baldy has done well in trades so far

Not many players in the league at his size that skate like him with power

Hugo may get his price , only takes 1 desperate and stupid GM team

Trade deadline plus first week of UFA many dumb moves happen

Habs got a likely lottery pick for Chariots of fire

Hughes isn't in any rush to move Anderson. There's a half dozen guys to move before Anderson. That's the reason he's "not in a rush". If a GM offers him a first he'll take it. If not, he waits. Again, nowhere close to a priority and really low hanging fruit by Dreger.

He also has a no trade clause. 10 teams or something like that
