CH's like took me back to this page to see this comment that I missed.

I just needed to say, nope. Not even close.

Also, I just remembered I didn't hit up one spot on my list. A&W. Dammit.

And I tried to hit another spot on my list, the Marche at Bayview and York Mills, which had already been renamed Richtree or some shit back then, but a search told me was permanently closed now. Sad stuff. Apparently the one downtown at BCE place is gone too? What took their place, or are those spots just sitting vacant now - anyone know?

are you talking about the buffet Le Marche?

It was a fantastic restaurant in its heyday.

Friends and I made many a pre-Saturday night dinner there, and with fam lots too. And it was always packed.

Not sure how that place fell apart. I would think that concept was kind of timeless.

Comes back to Toronto which finally has a world class restaurant scene

eats a week of Harvey’s and leaves lamenting having not had a&w and le marche.

I didn't have opportunity to go anywhere other than pre-arranged stuff, or quick casual. And of course I wanted to hit up the nostalgic spots that I can't get down here.

Plus I was in Richmond Hill the whole time except for one afternoon downtown.

Where's the world class scene situated, because I'm sure it's not in RH. Downtown, I assume.

I did eat lunch at Amal on Bloor that day at my friend's suggestion, but pretty sure that's not part of the elite food fare.
