Probably would’ve kept him if this was mid-season and he was contributing in any way (which of course is a long shot with this guy).

But I guess it’s an easy decision even for the Yotes when it’s the off-season and you signed him 10 seconds ago off the scrap heap.

I don't think this is a moral play as much as it is they may look at this as a breach of contract - or at least that the possibility exists that he would not be able to honour the contract.
