What in the motherfuck is this....

I'm fine with Calgary at the #1 but to not have the Leafs knife fighting with the Oilers at #2 is kind of nuts. Also, if we're talking about just this year, I'd take Winnipeg's blueline over Ottawa or Vancouver's.

Projected top six:
Quinn Hughes - Cole McWard
Carson Soucy - Filip Hronek
Ian Cole - Tyler Myers

and think for a second that it's remotely good? Quinn Hughes is on his way to being elite....but McWard & Soucy in your top 4 is terrible. Tyler Myers is a well known tire fire anywhere in the lineup and Ian Cole is a plug who shouldn't be an everyday guy at this point in his career. That's a bottom of the league blueline only salvaged from being AHL bad by Quinn Hughes being outstanding and Hronek being a pretty okay #3-4.
 
The Athletic also ranked Leafs D in the ok category. Seemed unfair but many writers have recency bias and so there was concern about McCabe and Giordano sucking ass in the playoffs

Yeah, recency bias is always nuts.

29 yr old Carson Soucy doesn't trip over his own dick as a #6 for Seattle during a few playoff series? Well that means he's clearly ready to be the #3 in Vancouver.

22-23: $83.5
23-24: $87.5
