When you flair your elbow high like that after missing the hit, you're aiming for the head. You might make contact a little lower, but you were aiming for the head. The first thing you teach a defender about making that hit at the blueline when they're a teenager is to stay shoulder tucked in and if you miss the forward, to not flair the elbow for just that reason.

It's cool, we know he's willing to throw cheapshots around. But it is what it is.
